Ajna is the chakra of curiosity, insight, and learning.

Ajña: The chakra of knowledge

Also called the Third Eye or Brow Chakra, this energy vortex is located between your eyes. In the languages I speak and study, I have noticed consistently that “I SEE” is essentially interchangeable with “I KNOW” and/or “I UNDERSTAND.” Consider not just that you see with your physical eyes, but also with your wisdom and intellect. Someone makes an assertion and/or demonstration, and you reply, “I see what you’re saying and/or doing.” Or another, “I will believe it when I see it.” The literal and the conceptual are tied together. Entire oceans of knowledge are waiting to be delved. When Ajña is healthy and aligned you will understand openly. Perception, learning, curiosity, and invention flow through your open mind as you look with curious eyes at the worlds within and around you.

When it is misaligned you drown wisdom in presumption, ignorance, stubbornness, and dogma. But is there too much energy flooding into your mind, or not enough energy desiccating your inspiration?

The sixth cycle of The 49 Professions of Joy redefines how you embrace knowledge. Are you open to new ideas? Are you curious and intellectually nimble? How do you respond when someone or something interrupts what you thought you knew?

There are many ways of seeing, both literally and figuratively. With your physical eyes, explore the nuances between diffuse, focused, honed, and keen gazes. What do you learn from each? Alternatively, these concepts translate directly to the amount of interest you put into new topics.
